We are looking for highly motivated young researchers with interest in neurobiology, molecular biology, cell biology, morphology and/or biochemistry.
Our group is focused on the questions how cell recognition molecules and their glycan moieties at the cell surface and in the extracellular matrix shape the nervous system in ontogenesis and synaptic activity/plasticity and how and to which extent these features are recapitulated in regeneration of the adult peripheral and central nervous systems after acute or chronic injuries. We combine biochemical methods, cell culture approaches and immunocytochemistry with histology, and immunohistochemistry using mouse lines as well as mouse models for human diseases.
The offered position is part of ongoing projects regarding the role of recognition molecules in regulating apoptosis, mitochondrial dynamics and metabolism, peroxisomal functioning and nuclear functions, such as transcription and pre-RNA splicing.
The Center for Molecular Neurobiology offers an excellent scientific working environment and cutting-edge infrastructure.
